The Ask

The Ask

The Ask

Create and launch a suite of apps that demonstrate our team’s ability to take a product from concept to market.

Beyond showcasing execution, this was an opportunity to:

  • Stretch beyond client constraints and explore original ideas

  • Build deeper expertise in mobile product development

  • Experiment with designing for a completely different audience—toddlers and their caregivers

  • Establish a repeatable framework for launching consumer-facing products

What started as a small experiment became a proving ground for how we think about product—simple, intentional, and built around real human behavior, even at the earliest stages of life.

The Challenge

The Challenge

The Challenge

Designing for toddlers introduced a completely new set of constraints:

  • Non-verbal users with limited reading ability

  • Short attention spans requiring instant engagement

  • Motor skill limitations impacting interaction design

  • Designing for co-use with parents, not just the child

We had to rethink traditional UX patterns and create something intuitive without instructions.

The Solution

The Solution

We started with a simple ABC app to validate our approach:

  • Bright, playful illustrations

  • Tap-based interactions with immediate feedback

  • Reinforcement through sound and animation

Early success gave us confidence to expand into a broader suite of apps, each focused on:

  • Foundational learning (letters, numbers, shapes)

  • Sensory engagement (sound, motion, cause-and-effect)

  • Emotional delight (surprise, humor, character-driven moments)

This evolved into a scalable system of reusable components—interaction patterns, visual language, and sound design—that allowed us to rapidly prototype and launch new concepts.

First year of launch:

  • 300K+ downloads

  • Reached #1 in Education with ELIAS Zoo
